Vintage Sterling Silver Starved Rock, Illinois Souvenir Spoon
Offered is a sterling silver souvenir spoon for Standing Rock, Illinois. The bowl is engraved with a scene of Standing Rock and surrounding foliage. The shoulders and stem have tributes to the Abraham Lincoln monument and Stephen A. Douglas monument, as well as an ear of corn. The Terminal of the spoon is decorated with the Illinois state motto and flag design of an eagle with a U.S. Shield and a waving banner with the state motto “State Sovereignty, National Union. The back stem has a depiction of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument and the State Capitol building, as well as three stamped hallmarks and the word “Sterling” stamped as well.
CONDITION:
Good condition. Sterling silver. Front and back spoon designs are legible. Some light tarnish. With three stamped hallmarks and “Sterling” stamp.
