Vintage Sterling Silver 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition Souvenir Spoon

Offered is a sterling silver souvenir spoon for the Chicago Columbian Exposition, 1893. The bowl has detailed architectural design of one of the buildings in White City, with the words “Columbian Exposition, 1892 Chicago 1893” at top and bottom of the bowl. The shoulders have decorative filigree, with “Columbian Exposition” on the stem. The handle has a spreadwing eagle; in the eagle’s talons is a Union shield and the date 1892 below. Christopher Columbus’ ship the Santa Maria and the date 1492 comprise the rest of the spoon’s handle. The terminal of the spoon is decorated with a profile of Christopher Columbus. The heel is stamped “Sterling” and has a trademark. 

CONDITION:

Good condition. Sterling silver. Front and back spoon design is legible. Some light tarnish. Stamped "Sterling" on heel, with a trademark. 

Dimensions: 1 1/4" H x 6” W x 3/4” D.

Accompanied by our company's letter of authenticity.
