To Seek a Newer World is a collection of essays written and compiled by Robert F. Kennedy in which he examines the serious, pressing issues of his time. These essays grew out of speeches, travel, and professional experiences. The book poses the question: “Are we willing to dare?” Published shortly before his death, the book examines and unravels the political preferences and ideas posed by Kennedy throughout his personal life, as well as those most significant to him throughout his tenure in the US government. Some of the points discussed in the book are issues of nuclear control, Chinese foreign policy, and the Vietnam War. A section is dedicated to discussing the financial and institutional strains on poorer communities, as well as polarizing race relations in America.
Robert F. Kennedy was one of President John F. Kennedy’s younger brothers, and a trusted professional advisor during his presidency. Kennedy served as the United States Attorney General during JFK’s first years as President. Starting in March of 1965, he served as a New York Senator for three years leading up to his announced campaign for the presidency. In 1968, Kennedy announced his campaign for the Democratic party. Three months later, he was assassinated.
