Join or Die Leather Valet
This handmade Join or Die Leather Valet is a patriotic way to accessorize around the home or the office. Custom to The Great Republic, the valet is stamped at center with Benjamin Franklin’s "Join or Die" wood engraving of a sectioned snake. The cartoon was published in his Pennsylvania Gazette in 1754 to rally the colonies during the advent of the French and Indian War.
It later became a symbol of colonial freedom during the Revolutionary War, used in the newspaper masthead of 1774 The Pennsylvania Journal and Weekly Advertiser with different "Unite or Die" text and a snake cut into various pieces. Each piece is labelled with a colony, with the implied message that only by uniting the separate colonies under a single cause could the colonies hope to break from British rule.
Functioning as an elegant catch-all tray, this handsome valet is the perfect resting place for everything in your daily after-work pocket purge. Unsnap the corners for a lay-flat travel accessory, and never leave your keys in a hotel room again. The perfect solution to a man's lost keys or wallet.
The valet is made of premium Horween full-grain leather and robust stitching, ensuring many years of service, guaranteed.
