Dwight Eisenhower Signed Card Collage

Offered is a custom signature collage, celebrating Dwight D. Eisenhower. The collage features Eisenhower's original signature on a card, which is paired with a black and white photograph of the five-star general. The signature appears in dark, bold ink "Dwight Eisenhower" on a card with the header "Gettysburg, Pennsylvania" at top right and a five-star insignia at top center. Mounted on the back of the framed collage is a letter from Robert Schulz, executive assistant to Eisenhower. The letter is written on Eisenhower's personal letterhead and explains the circumstances of the signed card.

The signed card and letter were sent to Robert S. Grant, whose 9-year-old son had requested a signed document from Eisenhower. In his March 1966 letter, Schulz responded that it was not possible to fulfill this request, due to time conmtratints of the very busy General, but wrote "...I am enclosing a card personally signed by the General that he may put with his collection. This exception could only be made because we had this one card in the office that we had been holding for quite some time and feel that your request is worthy of the exception." The letter is accompanied by its original transmittal cover.

Dwight David “Ike” Eisenhower (1890-1969) was an Army General and statesman. Eisenhower served as the 34th President of the United States between 1953-1961. He also served as a five-star general in the Army during World War II and was credited with supervising the successful Invasion of Normandy from 1944-1945. This collage celebrates him as a great leader and American patriot in a framed work of art.
