Antique Saint John Bosco Medal on Faceted Blue Lace Double Wrap Bracelet

Sale price$285.00

Presented is an antique Medal of Saint John double-wrap bracelet. The medal is round in shape and crafted in silver. The front of the medal depicts a bust of Saint John Bosco and the reverse has a portrait of Mary and infant, inscribed along the rim in raised relief with the Latin text, “Maria Auxilium Christianorum," which translates to, “Mary Help of Christians."  Saint John Bosco (1815–1888) was an Italian Catholic priest renowned for his pioneering work in educating and housing the poor and orphaned in 19th-century Turin. Bosco was an ardent devotee of the Virgin Mary under the title Mary Help of Christians. The medal has been fashioned into a double-wrap bracelet by vintage jewelry designers, Intellectual Property. It is presented on a double strand of faceted blue lace beads and is closed with a sterling silver toggle.

Searching the braderies and antique shops throughout Europe, the founders of Intellectual Property, Mary and Hallie, specialize in finding unique antique medals and transforming them into one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. Their designs highlight the legacy and integrity of the original pieces, artfully bringing the past into the present.
