Antique British Sterling Silver & Enamel Fob on a Faceted Amazonite Necklace

Sale price$485.00

This antique British sterling silver and enamel fob has been fashioned into a necklace by vintage jewelry designers, Intellectual Property.  The fob’s obverse depicts an enameled shield with the text “Itchen Secondary School Athletics” encircling the border. The school is located in Southampton, Hampshire. Founded as the Itchen Pupil-Teachers' Centre in 1906, it became the Itchen Co-educational Secondary School in the 1920s. The school’s motto “En Avant,” translated to “forward” or “leading the way,” surmounts the colorful shield on a burgundy ribbon. The reverse of the medal is stamped with silver hallmarks. The medal is presented on a strand of faceted amazonite with a sterling silver toggle.

Searching the braderies and antique shops throughout Europe, the founders of Intellectual Property, Mary and Hallie, specialize in finding unique antique medals and transforming them into one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. Their designs highlight the legacy and integrity of the original pieces, artfully bringing the past into the present.
