As a young girl, Saint Bernadette was visited by the Virgin Mary at the Cave of Lourdes in France. She was chosen by God to receive visions that would inspire hope and faith. This elaborately designed oval medal depicts this exact scene; the child kneels before a glowing Virgin Mary in the rocky grotto. The text “Je Suis L’Immaculee Conception” and date “1858” encircle the scene. The charm is presented on a strand of red coral and faceted pyrite with a sterling silver toggle.
