Antique French Medal of Jesus on a Faceted Iolite Necklace
This antique French Medal of Jesus has been fashioned into a necklace by vintage jewelry designers, Intellectual Property. The oval medal’s obverse features a depiction of Jesus at center, surrounded by rays of light. The Latin text “Pax Vobis Ego Sum… Et Benedixit Eis” and a beaded border encircle the medal. The text translates to “"Peace be with you, it is I" and “And he blessed them." The reverse of the medal has a raised relief text “Jesus/ Marie/ Joseph” at center and the dates “1822” at top and “1922”at the bottom. It is surrounded by a border of lilies and small beads. The medal is presented on a strand of faceted iolite, with a sterling silver toggle.
Searching the braderies and antique shops throughout Europe, the founders of Intellectual Property, Mary and Hallie, specialize in finding unique antique medals and transforming them into one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. Their designs highlight the legacy and integrity of the original pieces, artfully bringing the past into the present.
