Antique British 1938 "Birchfield Harriers" Sterling Silver and Enamel Fob Medal on Freshwater Pearl Necklace

Sale price$675.00

This antique British "Birchfield Harriers" sterling silver and enamel fob medal has been fashioned into a necklace by vintage jewelry designers, Intellectual Property.  The fob medal depicts an enameled deer at center with the motto “Fleet & Free,”  encircled by a dark blue border of text “Birchfield Harriers.” Established in 1877, Birchfield Harriers is a premier Birmingham-based athletics club with a rich history, producing nearly 100 Olympic athletes since 1908. Based at Alexander Stadium, the club has a distinguished reputation, boasting numerous championship titles and maintaining a strong competitive presence. The reverse of the medal has the engraved name of “J. M. Smith” and silver hallmarks. The medal is presented on a strand of freshwater pearls and a sterling silver toggle.

Searching the braderies and antique shops throughout Europe, the founders of Intellectual Property, Mary and Hallie, specialize in finding unique antique medals and transforming them into one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. Their designs highlight the legacy and integrity of the original pieces, artfully bringing the past into the present.
