American Eagle Refillable Leather Journal
Mark 250 years of American independence with a journal designed to honor the enduring spirit of the republic. In celebration of the sesquicentennial, we partnered with master leather artisans at Tactile Craftworks to create an heirloom-quality commemorative eagle journal worthy of the occasion.
The cover showcases a bold spread-wing eagle carrying a classic U.S. shield across its chest, featuring a starry ensign and alternating vertical stripes. Beneath the eagle, a flowing banner proudly declares “Liberty Since 1776.” Turn the journal over to find our signature Great Republic log stamped into the leather.
The eagle motif in décor and folk art has been widely used throughout our nation's history, as a powerful emblem of liberty, strength, and independence. The founders of the United States were fond of comparing their new republic with the Roman Republic, in which eagle imagery, usually the golden eagle, was prominent. On June 20, 1782, the Continental Congress adopted the design for the Great Seal of the United States depicting a bald eagle grasping 13 arrows and an olive branch with its talons. Inspired by that artistic tradition, this commemorative journal blends historic American symbolism with enduring craftsmanship, creating a timeless keepsake designed to be carried, used, and passed down for generations.
Crafted from premium leather sourced from Seidel Tanner with a solid brass closure, each journal is built to age beautifully and last for years to come. Each journal is refillable and includes a lined Moleskine notebook which can be replaced again and again. Whether used for daily reflections, travel notes, or preserving big ideas, this journal is designed to become a trusted companion and future keepsake.
**This journal is exclusive to The Great Republic.
