"America Needs Eisenhower" was a prominent campaign slogan used during both of Eisenhower’s successful U.S. presidential campaigns, in 1952 and 1956. It was featured on campaign memorabilia, such as pinback buttons and posters, and occasionally appeared as part of the longer slogan, "America needs Eisenhower for a durable peace." The slogan emphasized a need for experienced leadership, referencing the General's trusted role as supreme commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force during WWII.
