Antique French Congregation of the Children of Mary Medal and Blue Enamel Mary Charm on a Freshwater Pearl Necklace

This antique French Congregation of the Children of Mary medal has been fashioned into a necklace by vintage jewelry designers, Intellectual Property. The silver medal is intricately decorated with a lily and star motif. Along the outside of the medal is the French text ”Congregation des Enfants De Marie” in raised relief. The medal is further inscribed with the date “C.G. 7 Mars 1919.” On the reverse of the medal is a raised relief depiction of Mary, robed and arms outstretched, with a halo above her head. Along the rim is the text "Monstra Te Esse Matrem," a Latin expression that translates to "Show yourself to be our Mother." The medal is also presented with a small blue enameled Virgin Mary charm. The medal and charm hang together on a 16 inch strand of jade and faceted sodalite beads and finished with a sterling silver toggle.
