This is a beautiful sterling silver trophy, circa 1923. Surrounding the goblet-shaped trophy is energetic cricket scene, with batter in mid-swing.
The sport of cricket has a known history beginning in the late 16th century. Having originated in south-east England, it became the country's national sport in the 18th century and has developed globally in the 19th and 20th centuries.
This is a beautiful example, in stellar condition.
The cup stands 12 1/2" tall, with a base that is 4 1/4" in diameter, and is 5 1/4" at the lip.
