Presented is a first edition printing of James Iwrin's Destination Moon. This book is signed and inscribed by Irwin. The inscription reads: "To Keith and Liz, Decisions Determine Destination! Your Grateful Brother, James Irwin, Apollo 15 " in black felt tip ink on the half title page.  Irwin also drew a small crescent moon illustration by signature. 

Published in 1989, Destination: Moon is a both a personal and spiritual account of Irwin's Apollo 15 journey. The book is profusely illustrated throughout, with black and white and full color photographs. 

James Benson "Jim" Irwin (1930 – 1991) was an American astronaut, aeronautical engineer, test pilot, and United States Air Force pilot. He served in the Apollo 15 mission which was the fourth human landing on the Moon. In this memoir, Irwin describes his training and schooling to become an astronaut,  his participation in the Apollo 15 voyage, and the resulting reevaluation of his faith after walking the surface of the Moon.

Very good condition. First edition. Quarto. Presented in original hardcover, pictorial boards. Interior glossy pages are very clean and the binding is tight. Illustrated throughout with black and white and color photographs. Book is signed and inscribed by Irwin, with an accompanying illustration, on the half title page , in black felt-tip ink. Inscription is legible and has not faded.
