To Rule the Night tells the story of the lunar landing, life, and legacy of Apollo 15's Lunar Module pilot, James Benson "Jim" Irwin (1930 – 1991). Irwin was an American astronaut, aeronautical engineer, test pilot, and United States Air Force pilot. He served in the Apollo 15 mission which was the fourth human landing on the Moon. In this book Irwin relays his own personal experience with the Apollo mission, as well as his life leading up to that point. It serves as an in depth and personal look at the space expedition from Irwin's point of view.
