A lovely pair of vintage brass-plated bookends. Each bookend features an accurately detailed bust of John F. Kennedy. Against a square background with columns on either side, Kennedy's most famous quote is displayed just above his image. It reads, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
John f. Kennedy was one of the most influential presidents of the modern era. He remains the youngest president to be elected into office and was known for his support of the Civil Rights Movement and de-escalation of the Cuban Missile Crisis. These elegant brass-plated bookends are a testament to a period of high tensions and a president that served during that time.
Overall good condition for age. Some overall wear to the brass-plating, but no significant damage. Both have some felt adhered to the bottom to prevent damage to surfaces and the felt is not visible when bookends are stood upright. Each weighs roughly 3 pounds.
Dimensions: 8" H x 5 7/8"W x 3" D (each)
