Vintage Abraham Lincoln Seated Bookends
Presented is a set of vintage bookends, featuring seated Abraham Lincoln. These bookends emulate Gutzon Borglum's 1911 seated sculpture of Lincoln, which leaves room for an individual to sit next to Lincoln on a bench. Lincoln sits with his arm outstretched as if to welcome a visitor. The sculpture stands outside the Essex County Courthouse in Newark, New Jersey. Borglum was the sculptor who produced Mount Rushmore.
CONDITION:
Overall good condition, with nice patina. One bookend has small previous repair to Lincoln's head. Otherwise, only light wear and scattered areas of tarnish.
Dimensions: 4 3/8" H x 4" W x 2 5/8" D (each).
Accompanied by our company's letter of authenticity.
