Vintage "1776" Brass American Eagle Bookends

This is a pair of vintage brass bookends. These stunning bookends depict two bald eagles as they prepare for flight. The eagles are shown perched on bases inscribed with “1776.” The realistic detail of the eagles is highlighted by the antiqued brass coloring of the bookends.

Eagles have long represented the United States. The bald eagle, in particular, has been the national symbol of the nation since 1782. These vintage eagle bookends make an exquisite addition to a home office, bookshelf or desk.

CONDITION:

Overall very good condition. No severe wear visible besides light scratches along the base. One bookend missing felt bottom.
