Presented is Volume 1 of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Selected Drawing Portfolio. A collection of 50 color plates spanning Wright's career, Selected Drawing Portfolio is a gorgeous retrospective of his work. Each whole-page color illustration of Wright's building plans and architectural sketches was printed separately. The plates contain numerous previously unpublished Wright drawings. Volume I was published in New York, in 1977. This is number A201 of only 500 copies printed.
Frank Lloyd Wright was a highly influential American architect (1867-1959) whose mastery of space, form, and human-centered design revolutionized the field of architecture and earned him a place among the greatest thinkers and artists of the 20th century. Wright is best known for nature-harmonious edifices such as Fallingwater and the Guggenheim Museum.
Very good condition. 50 mounted color plates on heavy card stock. Wrapped in original glassine wrapper and laid into its original printed folder. Set into original heavy black cloth covered clamshell with red titles and ivory latches. With original cardboard outer box with paper label. Outer box has some damage and damp staining. Box Dimensions: 23 1/2" H x 18"W.
