Presented is a first edition printing of Eugene Fowler's One Small Step: Project Apollo and the Legacy of the Space Age. The book was published in 1999 by Smithmark Publishers out of New York and commemorates the Apollo 11 Lunar landing that took place in 1969. Neil Armstrong, the first to step foot on the Moon, has signed the book boldly on the title page.
One Small Step celebrates the 30th anniversary of NASA's historic Apollo 11 mission. Apollo 11 was the first successful Lunar landing, which took place on July 20, 1969. Eugene Fowler produced this book in the summer of 1999, the 30th year anniversary of Apollo 11, and filled it with documentary photographs from NASA and the National Air and Space Museum, as well as images from film, television, and advertising.
The text explores both the details of the Apollo 11 mission as well as the cultural influence of space travel. The book was produced primarily to act as a nostalgic reminder of Apollo 11, but it also acts as a point of reference for younger generations to learn about the importance of the first Moon landing.
