Mark Twain Twice-Signed Autographed Collage

Offered is a unique Mark Twain twice-signed autograph collage. Horizontally, Mark Twain has inscribed the card in his given name "Truly Yours, S.L. Clemens." Across the top diagonally, he has signed in a darker ink "Mark Twain." The twice-signed card highlights Twain's given name as well as his alter ego as an author. This collage celebrates Mark Twain with a black and white photograph portrait above his signatures.

Born Samuel Langhorne Clemens, the American writer adapted his pen name Mark Twain for the authorship of his works of compelling literature, such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884). In both novels, Clemens examined various tensions that underlay contemporary society, including race relations. Twain gained the title of the "greatest humorist of this country" and "the father of American literature" for his work.
