Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington Jazz Collage

Duke Ellington (1899-1974) was an American composer, pianist, and bandleader of a jazz orchestra, which he led from 1923 until his death. This photo, on left, is a vintage photo of Ellington with a bright smile and wearing a patterned coat, signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen: "To Jean, good luck, Duke Ellington.”

Louis Armstrong (1901-1971) was an American trumpet player, composer, and vocalist, and one of the most influential jazz musicians of his time. The autograph, in the bottom left of the collage, features a fountain pen signature and inscription on a light green album page, reading: "Best wishes, From Louis Armstrong, 21/7/34.”

Also featured is a Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong “Roulette” radio station copy 45 RPM record framed in the top right corner of the collage. All elements are framed according to the highest conservation standards.
