This is a very special piece of golf history: It's a perfect, solid sterling silver replica of a famous trophy presented to the winner of a 1911 tournament at the Chevy Chase Club (Maryland) by the U.S. Vice President James Sherman. President Taft was also present at the awards ceremony. (Interestingly, the runner-up of the original 1911 tournament was Sherman's own son.) This particular trophy -- complete with the same engraving as the historic original -- was presented to the winner of a 1938 tournament.
Measures 8-3/4" high, 20.4 Troy ounces.
