This is a first edition printing of Falling To Earth: An Apollo 15 Astronaut's Journey to the Moon, signed by the author Al Worden. Astronaut Al Worden wrote the book in conjunction with Francis French. The book was published by Smithsonian Books out of Washington, D.C., and includes black and white photographs.

Al Worden served as the command module pilot for the Apollo 15 mission to the Moon in 1971. Worden spent six days orbiting the Moon, including three of those days when he was completely alone. His distance from another human during that time made him the most isolated person in existence. This book tells Worden's story of exhilaration as well as isolation. Falling to Earth is a candid account of what it was like to be an Apollo astronaut, including all of its glory and its pitfalls.
