A striking hand-carved wooden eagle, which has been beautiful hand painted and gilded. This eagle dates to the early to mid 20th century.
Depicted in mid flight, with both wings artfully extended, the eagle holds a ribbon its beak and clutches a shield in its talons. The shield has a white ensign and seven blue stars. Alternating gold and red vertical stripes complete the design.
This beautiful and large eagle was acquired through a private collection from Massachusetts.
