Presented is a large British aluminum trunk. This English trunk would have been used for aircraft cargo luggage aboard the Avro Vulcan and was produced in the 1960s. It includes wooden reinforcements, original handles and latches, and a clean interior.
The iconic Vulcan was a strategic bomber in service with the RAF from 1956 until 1984. It was designed to provide a crucial part of the United Kingdom's airborne nuclear deterrent and played a major role during the early period of the Cold War.
The Vulcan was a "new-technology" aircraft. It was built as a bomber and designed to evade interception by enemy fighter aircraft by flying both fast and high. It is, however, perhaps best remembered for its conventional long range bombing raids during the 1982 Falklands war.
Overall good condition, especially considering age and use. Some noticeable dings and scratches on outside surface, though interior is well maintained. Dimensions: 24" H x 31" W x 23 3/4"D.
