Former First Lady Barbara Bush served the country alongside her husband, George H. W. Bush, from 1989-1993. One of the most popular first ladies to grace the White House, Barbara has an impeccable knack for wit, compassion, and devotion. Such qualities come through in her writing as she tells of her childhood in New York, her early years with George, the painful loss of a child, her role in public life, and lastly her time in the White House. Interspersed throughout the memoir are excerpts from her diary, providing a personal insight into her thoughts and experiences in the moment. Full of humor, humility, and touching anecdotes, Barbara Bush’s memoir provides an interesting glimpse into the life of a first lady.
Overall very good condition. Barbara Bush autographed the pasted down signature card included by the publisher on the first free end paper. Written in blue ballpoint pen, the signature is dark and legible. Minute toning at the top edge of dust jacket and three small chips on the corners. Now protected in a mylar sleeve. Internally clean and bright.
