A Portrait of My Father was written by George W. Bush for his father George H. W. Bush and was first published by Crown Publishers in November 2014. This is the first limited deluxe edition, issued in the same year by the same publisher. This book is presented in the publisher’s gilt-lettered blue cloth boards and is housed in a matching cloth slipcase with a color image of George H. W. Bush framed in gilt on the front. The book has a large color frontispiece of the two Presidents Bush, from a painting by George W. Bush. It is signed by George W. Bush on the frontispiece, just below the portrait. This is a personal biography of George H. W. Bush as told by his son. 

This book is a unique biography from one President to his father, a former President. The book details the earlier life and career of George H. W. Bush and tells his story in a more personal and familiar light. George W. Bush describes the influence his father had on him during his own life, thus leading him to the decision to go into politics. New York Times writes: "The book takes readers through the familiar touchstones of an extraordinary life." It is an excellent portrayal of George H. W. Bush's life and his relationship with his son.
