This is a 1968 edition poster of "Join the Army Air Service. Be an American Eagle!" The poster was first issued in WWI in 1917 for the war effort, and is offered here as an unframed 1968 print. The recruiting poster was originally designed by Charles Livingston Bull and published by the Alpha Litho. Co., Inc., out of New York.
The work features the depiction of an American eagle fighting a large black German eagle in the sky. The battling eagles are surrounded by airplanes over the words "Join the Army Air Service. Be an American Eagle!" At the very bottom, the poster details the way in which onlookers may join the war effort, by consulting the draft board, reading the illustrated recruiting booklet, or writing to the chief signal officer of the Army.
Overall very good condition. Vibrant coloring and no significant wear to paper or surface. Some slight toning to paper and wrinkles around margins. Unframed, sold as is.
Unframed dimensions: 38.5" H 29" W.
