A striking and impressive 1887 wall map of the state of Maine by nineteenth century publishers Colby & Stuart. This highly detailed map is fully titled "Map of the State of Maine. Compiled, Drawn & Published from Official Plans and Actual Surveys, by Colby & Stuart". The map was published in Houlton, Maine. It was engraved by William Bracher and copyrighted by Colby, two years before the publish date in 1885.
The map is lithographed and hand colored with outstanding details including towns, villages, post offices, roads, railroads, county and town lines, etc.
This is a fairly rare 19th century wall map of the state of Maine and is in very good condition. It has been professionally cleaned and backed onto linen, and is perfect for display in the home or office.
