This is Asher & Company’s second issue of the scarce pocket map of the Civil War. This map features the region involved in the Civil War with highlighted battlefields throughout the east coast. This map shows all the events of the war, up until August 9th, 1862, in Culpepper, Virginia.
This map shows the midwest to the east coast and focuses on the states that were involved in the Civil War. Significant towns, railroads, waterways, and forts are all labeled. The state boundaries are colored in green and battle sites are labeled with red overprinting. A population table with the "Date of Admission and Secession of the Southern States" is shown at the bottom. This map is the second issue of Asher’s 1862 original.
Overall good condition. Originally a folding pocket map, fold lines are present with some wear. Coloring is still quite vibrant and visible. Framed alongside original orange pocket map booklet, at left. Framed according to the highest conservation standards in a custom black and gold frame.
