1776 Historical Woods Collection: White House Fountain and Ballpoint Pens

The 1776 Historical Woods Collection: White House Fountain and Ballpoint Pens is a limited edition group of pens that feature historic pine lumber from the White House.  The pine was built into the White House in 1815 as part of the restoration effort following the infamous burning of Washington by the British during the War of 1812.

In 1927, President Calvin Coolidge renovated the White House. During that time, this pine wood was removed and documented.  For 112 years this pine supported the roof of the Executive Residence; now it is the center of Eagle Pen Company's historical pen series.

The father and son team behind Eagle Pen Company are purveyors of the world's most unique writing instruments. They share a goal of bringing the luxury pen back to America. From start to finish, each pen is designed and hand made in the USA.

White House Fountain Pen

The White House Fountain Pens feature a pen cap with sections of the 1815 pine wood from the White House. The pen body features original painted artwork by Lynn Peterson celebrating the iconic landmark. Using John Plumbe Jr.'s 1846 photograph, the earliest photograph ever taken of the White House, as reference, Lynn Peterson hand-painted a miniature oil painting in monotone oils on each pen body.

Each White House Fountain Pen edition contains one capped fountain pen, which can be converted into a rollerball pen, special red ink for the fountain pen, and a small vial of the pine wood used to create each pen. The edition is presented in a special gift box with a numbered and signed certificate from Eagle Pen Company.

This pen series is a limited edition - with only 30 pens in the series.
